Leinhäuser Language Services GmbH came into being in the fall of 2010 through the merger of Leinhäuser und Partner Fachübersetzungen and one of the in-house translation departments at Siemens AG.
Leinhäuser Language Services GmbH (LLS) is the legal successor to Leinhäuser und Partner Fachübersetzungen. The team, comprising 18 permanent project managers with translator training, serves over 300 customers worldwide, relying on a pool of more than 400 highly specialized freelancers.
With a throughput of around 2 million words a month, we are one of the biggest providers of translation und transcreation services for the area of corporate communications in Germany.
Leinhäuser und Partner (LuP) was founded by Heike and Udo Leinhäuser in 1998 and provided language services worldwide to more than 250 customers until 2010. The translation company employed up to ten full-time project managers with translator training and more than 150 highly specialized external translators translating exclusively into their mother tongue. Leinhäuser und Partner is a founding member of LETS Communicate and was certified in 2009 by TÜV Süd in accordance with DIN EN 15038.
Language Services (LS) was founded as an in-house Siemens translation department back in 1950 and carved out in 2004 as the wholly owned Siemens subsidiary LS Language Services GmbH. It was then reintegrated into Siemens in 2009 as part of SIS. The SIS carve-out at the end of fiscal year 2010 led to the closure of the department, which had been led by Birgit Albrecht-Klein and Ramón Blanco since 1997.
